Welcome
Message from Head teacher - Miss J Simons
Hello, on behalf of Brynmill Primary a warm welcome to our site.
Brynmill Primary School was originally built during the reign of Queen Victoria and is conveniently situated a stones throw away from the beach and with in easy distance of 2 outstanding parks.
Today, it caters for children between the ages of 3 and 11 with 11 classes including a morning and afternoon nursery and is a happy, caring, multicultural environment.
The staff team is hardworking, enthusiastic and very committed to our School aims. We are a caring community of teachers, children, parents, governors and friends, all working together to make this a wonderful school
The aim of this site is to exchange information with parents about the school. It includes details about school life, the people involved and the club activities at Brynmill.
We are all very proud of our school and of our pupils. I do hope you enjoy browsing our website and finding out more about the world of Brynmill Primary School.
All visitors are welcome so if you would like to see us in action, please contact us. We look forward to seeing you.
Our Vision
To provide a broad and challenging learning experience within a secure and happy environment where all children can develop the confidence to reach their full potential in an ever changing world.
- As a school we aim to promote high achievement and learning for life by working with children so that they will:
- Develop enquiring minds and a spirit of curiosity;
- Be flexible and adaptable for the changing world;
- Be able to work independently and collaboratively;
- Achieve their full potential in all areas;
- Develop emotionally, physically and intellectually.
Through our teaching we aim to:
- Enable children to become highly motivated, confident, resourceful, enquiring and independent life long learners;
- Foster children’s self esteem so that they respect themselves, others and the environment;
- Help them build positive relationships with other people;
- Develop children’s self respect and encourage children to respect the ideas, attitudes, values and feelings of others;
- Enable children to understand their community and help them feel valued as part of this community;
- Help children grow into reliable, independent and positive citizens.
We will demonstrate our commitment to achieving these goals by:
- Challenging expectations for ourselves and children, striving for continual improvement in all that we do;
- Providing a stimulating, safe learning environment;
- Working collaboratively though open and sharing practice towards common goal;
- Encouraging children to have high expectations, academically, socially and in general behaviour;
- Building an ethos of support, challenge and encouragement to succeed;
- Developing learning partnerships between school, home and the community;
- Being good role models;
- Valuing achievement alongside attainment.
